Golden West Hobbies commissioned Athearn to custom paint a limited run of 500 HO McCloud Railway wide vision caboose “Blue Box” kits in 2004. The road number is #102 It is available in kit form and the more popular built or “ready to run” form.The International Car Company built McCloud Railway #102 in 1962. Built for the McCloud River Railroad, #102 and #101 were transferred to the McCloud Railway in 1992 when Mr. Forbis bought the Railroad from Itel Corp. The caboose was active on the McCloud Railway into the 21st century
The model is available at the DUNSMUIR HARDWARE and at times at the SISSON MUSEUM, SISKIYOU COUNTY MUSEUM, TRAIN DEPOT and the YREKA WESTERN GIFT SHOP.
